There was quite a lot of building work going on near the harbour and a lot of it was in very early stages, it will be interesting to see what it looks like when it's all finished.

It's hard to know exactly, given how small Reykjavík is, which the 'main street' is, but it is either Hverfisgata or Tryggvagata. Hverfisgata was where I probably spent most of my time in the city centre, there were a lot of cool little design shops and restaurants that I visited. It was also along Hverfisgata where I saw a lot of really interesting street art.

There was street art all over the city. After Googling to learn more about it there is actually a commissioned project by Iceland Airwaves and Urban Nation called Wall Poetry. Each piece is inspired by a different song. There is a whole walk you can do to see all the pieces and a Spotify playlist with all the songs referenced by the art, how awesome is that?

I'm not sure if all the art I took photos of is part of the project or just street art but I really liked all of it. I think cities always have more character when they've got art on their walls.
