The weather was incredibly kind on the day of the tour. Blue skies weren't a thing I saw much of while I was there. Our guide told us that there is a saying in Iceland, which is "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute" and he was so right. As we drove from place to place it could be raining one minute and blue skies the next and the temperature seemed to change dramatically depending on where we were.

Our guide was really helpful, unfortunately I can't remember his name though. He seemed filled with rebellious spirit, as our next stop was entirely off the beaten track, so much so I cannot name it, or even tell you where it was. We followed the water pipe that takes hot water from the geothermal plants into Reykjavík. I was enjoying the views outside while our guide told us about the geothermal plants and how the water isn't pumped directly into homes because children using the hot taps unsupervised would end up scalding themselves, so now the water is used to heat up cold water instead.

When we eventually got to our next stop, after following many winding roads up in between mountains, I was totally awestruck by the views.
